Having read much on the Web about making biodiesel I decided to attend the Ecotec half day training course. It was excellent. The Couse is not a sales gimic for the Companies products (as I synically thought it might well be), it is what the Company says it is - training for the home producer in how to successfully make biodiesel. I came away a wiser man - empowered with new found knowledge! The cost of the course was most certainly money well spent. The Trainer's knowledge is profound "he not only knows what to do but how to do it" and makes every effort to pass on his knowledge to those attending.   I would most certainly recommend any would-be biodiesel producer to attend the half training course.

Comments: have been making biodiesel for a few months and running a citreon saxo 1.5d and my rover 75 2lt  running these cars on only biodiesel after a tank full the cars are quieter and smoother running and it doesnt smell like a chip shop. once you have got the hang of making it, becomes a habit your looking for places to get oil. the oil i use is waste oil from restraunts. thanks to chris , ian and the ever pleasant emma.

Comments: Using Bio in 2006 Renault trafic 100dci runs quieter and smoother, slight lack of power.

Comments: Using Bio in the following : Galaxy 1.9Td, Xantia 1.9TD, Xantia 2.0 HDI, and just started in Voyager CRD 2.9.  Only addtional mechanical changes were to add an extra clear inline filter before the carb.  This allows you to see if any clogging occurs as bio will clean out all the rubbish left in the system by normal diesel.

I went up to Ecotec to collect my etruk 50 on the Monday and spent the day with the very friendly team. They showed me exactly what to do and let me practice on their training equipment. The training and explanation of the science behind the process was excellent. I left with my reactor, 300 litres of WVO, methanol, caustic soda, and a titration kit. By the Thursday I had made enough bio diesel to fuel my TD5 Discovery from Shrewsbury to Cumbria and back. I am now sourcing WVO from a local hotel and enjoying motoring at 15p per litre. Excellent kit and training. I would highly recommend Ecotec to anyone who wants to get started.

Comments: Presently using Biodiesel in a Skoda Octavia (90bhp) & a Skoda Superb (130bhp) PD Engine, which are VW sourced, noticable increase in power.
